A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to provide additional funds for the permanency innovation initiative fund.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services, the sum of one million dollars ($1,000,000) recurring for the 2017‑2018 fiscal year, bringing total project costs, including federal matching funds, to four million two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($4,250,000), and the sum of one million seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($1,750,000) recurring for the 2018‑2019 fiscal year, bringing total project costs, including federal matching funds, to five million four hundred thousand dollars ($5,400,000), to provide additional funds for the Permanency Innovation Initiative Fund in accordance with G.S. 131D‑10.9B. Funds provided pursuant to this section shall be supplemented, not supplanted, by all available federal matching funds. In addition to State and federal funds, private funds in the amount of two million four hundred thousand dollars ($2,400,000) may be used to extend those State and federal funds and increase the services provided to children and families during the 2017‑2019 fiscal biennium.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2017.
