A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to increase criminal court costs in district and superior court to provide additional funding for the victims compensation fund.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  G.S. 7A-304(a) is amended by adding a new subdivision to read:

"(3c) For support of the Victims Compensation Fund, the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) in the district court, including cases before a magistrate, and the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) in the superior court, to be credited to the Victims Compensation Fund established in G.S. 15B-23."

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2011.
