A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to cap the fuel tax rate at the current capped level for FIscal year 2014 and at the rate of thirty-six and one-half cents per gallon for fiscal year 2015.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding G.S. 105-449.80(a), for the period July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014, the motor fuel excise tax rate may not exceed thirty-seven and one-half cents (37 1/2 ¢) a gallon.

SECTION 2.  Notwithstanding G.S. 105-449.80(a), for the period July 1, 2014, through June 30, 2015, the motor fuel excise tax rate may not exceed thirty-six and one-half cents (36 1/2 ¢) a gallon.

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2013.
