A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds to the Department of Public Instruction for the child nutrition program to assist child Nutrition programs in meeting nutrition standards, as recommended by the House Select Committee on Childhood Obesity.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction the sum of twenty million dollars ($20,000,000) for the 2012-2013 fiscal year to be used by the child nutrition program in each local school administrative unit to meet nutrition standards.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2012.
