A JOINT RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE 2009 GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO CONSIDER A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT TO INCREASE THE CRIMINAL PENALTY IMPOSED UPON INSURANCE FIDUCIARIES FOR CANCELLATION, NONRENEWAL, OR TERMINATION OF GROUP HEALTH OR GROUP LIFE INSURANCE AND FOR FAILURE TO PROVIDE NOTIFICATION OF THE INTENT TO CEASE PREMIUM PAYMENTS OR FUNDING FOR A GROUP HEALTH PLAN.

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

SECTION 1.  The 2009 General Assembly may consider "A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT TO INCREASE THE CRIMINAL PENALTY IMPOSED UPON INSURANCE FIDUCIARIES FOR CANCELLATION, NONRENEWAL, OR TERMINATION OF GROUP HEALTH OR GROUP LIFE INSURANCE AND FOR FAILURE TO PROVIDE NOTIFICATION OF THE INTENT TO CEASE PREMIUM PAYMENTS OR FUNDING FOR A GROUP HEALTH PLAN."

SECTION 2.  This resolution is effective upon ratification.
