A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to extend the study of ways to ensure that the general statutes properly and uniformly refer to federal and state military organizations, as recommended by the general statutes commission.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Session Law 2009-281 reads as rewritten:
"SECTION 2. The General Statutes Commission
shall study and recommend to the 20102011 Regular Session of the 2009
2011 General Assembly ways to ensure that the General Statutes
properly and uniformly refer to federal or state military organizations.
These may include a single term that will include all organizations that
compose the reserve components of the armed forces. The recommendations
may include a process to be authorized by the General Assembly whereby
changes that do not change the law can be made administratively by the Attorney
General."
SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.
