A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to extend the deer seasons and remove bag limits on antlerless deer in order to reduce the deer population in the state.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of G.S. 113‑291.2 or any other provision of law, beginning with the 2007 hunting seasons, the Wildlife Resources Commission shall extend each of the seasons for taking deer with guns by closing the season one week later than previously established by rule of the Commission.

SECTION 2.  Notwithstanding the provisions of G.S. 113‑291.2 or any other provision of law, there shall be no bag limits on antlerless deer during any deer season established by the Wildlife Resources Commission.

SECTION 3.  This act is effective when it becomes law and expires January 1, 2009.
