A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to suspend the collection of the north carolina motor fuels tax for a period of ninety days to begin on june 15, 2008, or when this act becomes law.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  All taxes required to be collected pursuant to Part 3 of Article 36C of Chapter 105 of the General Statutes are suspended for a 90-day period beginning June 15, 2008, or from the date this act becomes law.  At the end of the 90-day suspension, all taxes required to be collected pursuant to Part 3 of Article 36C of Chapter 105 of the General Statutes shall be reinstated at the rate to be established by the Motor Fuels Section of the Department of Revenue consistent with any applicable laws regarding the establishment of the motor fuels taxes.

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
