GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF NORTH CAROLINA
SESSION LAW 2001-123
AN ACT to modify the membership of the Education cabinet.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. G.S. 116C-1(b) reads as rewritten:
"(b) The Education Cabinet
shall consist of the Governor, who shall serve as chair, the President of The
University of North Carolina, the State Superintendent of Public Instruction,
the Chairman of the State Board of Education, and the President of the
North Carolina Community College System.Colleges System, and the
President of the North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities. The
Education Cabinet shall may invite other representatives
of private education to participate in its deliberations as adjunct
members."
SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.
