HOUSE BILL 692

 

AN ACT TO EXEMPT THE CITY OF KINSTON FROM ARTICLE 12, CHAPTER 160A OF THE GENERAL STATUTES IN THE SALE OR LEASE OF CERTAIN SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY TO ADKIN HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI AND FRIENDS, INC., A NORTH CAROLINA NONPROFIT CORPORATION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  The City of Kinston may sell the real property known as the "Lenhardt Center", located in the former Adkin School site in the City of Kinston, to Adkin High School Alumni and Friends, Inc., a North Carolina nonprofit corporation, with its principal office in Kinston, North Carolina, and in the sale of such real property is exempt from the restrictions and limitations required to effectuate the sale of real property as provided in Article 12 of Chapter 160A of the General Statutes or in the Charter of the City of Kinston, as found in Chapter 169, Session Laws of 1987 as amended.

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 1st day of July, 1993.
