CHAPTER 826
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
Section 1. G.S. 130A-315(b1) reads as rewritten:
"(b1) The rules may also, in
conformity with the purpose of this Article as stated in G.S. 130A-312, provide
also establish criteria and procedures to insure an adequate supply
of drinking water, in the following areas: water. The rules
may:
(1) Record-keeping and
reporting; Provide for record keeping and reporting.
(2) Inspection Provide
for inspection of public water systems and required records; records.
(3) Criteria for design
Establish criteria for the design and construction of new or
modified public water systems; systems and for the modification
of existing public water systems.
(4) Review Establish
procedures for review and approval of the design and construction of
new or modified public water systems; systems and for the
modification of existing public water systems.
(4a) Limit the number of service connections to a public water system based on the quantity of water available to the public water system, provided that the number of service connections shall not be limited for a public water system operating in accordance with a local water supply plan that meets the requirements of G.S. 143-355(l).
(5) Siting of Establish
criteria and procedures for siting new public water systems; systems.
(6) Variances Provide
for variances and exemptions from these rules; and the rules.
(7) Notice of
non-compliance. Provide for notice of noncompliance in accordance with
G.S. 130A-324."
Sec. 2. This act is effective upon ratification.
