HOUSE BILL 636

 

AN ACT PERTAINING TO THE MANNER OF QUALIFYING AREAS FOR ANNEXATION BY PETITION BY THE TOWN OF MORRISVILLE.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  For the purpose of determining whether an area which the Town of Morrisville proposes to annex qualifies for annexation pursuant to G.S. 160A-31, the boundary of the territory described in Section 2 of Chapter 435, Session Laws of 1985, to the extent that said territory lies within Wake County, shall be considered a part of the municipal boundary of the Town of Morrisville when the boundary of the territory so described coincides with the municipal boundary of the Town of Morrisville for a distance of at least 5,300 feet.  Provided, however, that the only land which can be annexed is territory which lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the Town of Morrisville.

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.
