HOUSE BILL 553

 

AN ACT TO ABOLISH THE TAR RIVER PORT COMMISSION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  Chapter 7, Public-Local Laws, Extra Session of 1938, is repealed.

Sec. 2.  Chapter 4, Public-Local Laws of 1939, is repealed.

Sec. 3.  Chapter 1227, Session Laws of 1949, is repealed.

Sec. 4.  Chapter 593, Session Laws of 1951, is repealed.

Sec. 5.  The Tar River Port Commission is abolished, and its assets shall be disposed of and its liabilities assumed as shall be jointly agreed upon by the City of Greenville and the County of Pitt.

Sec. 6.  This act shall become effective 30 days after ratification.
