GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF NORTH CAROLINA

CHAPTER 231
AN ACT TO MAKE CLEAR THAT PERSONAL JURISDICTION MAY BE OBTAINED BY SERVICE BY PUBLICATION.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
Section 1. G.S. 1-75.3(b)(1), G.S. 1-75.4, and G.S. 1- 75.6 are amended by inserting immediately after the phrase "Rule 4(j)" the phrase "or Rule 4(j1)".
Sec. 2. This act is effective upon ratification.
In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 28th day of April, 1983.
