AN ACT TO PREVENT THE TAKING OF DEER WITH DOGS IN WAKE COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 113-104 is hereby amended by adding a new paragraph at the end thereof to read as follows:

"It shall be unlawful for any person to take deer with the aid of dogs in Wake County, except within the bounds of land upon which the hunter has in his possession written permission of the owner to hunt thereon, and provided also that the geographic area is designated by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission as an area in which such hunting is allowed; and furthermore, it shall be unlawful to shoot at a deer from, on or across a county or State highway right-of-way."

Sec. 2. Violation of this act shall be a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) or imprisonment not to exceed 120 days.

Sec. 3. This act shall become effective upon ratification.
