AN ACT TO REPEAL THOSE PROVISIONS ESTABLISHING THE MONROE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION IN ORDER THAT THE CITY OF MONROE MIGHT OPERATE ITS PARKS AND RECREATIONAL SYSTEM UNDER THE GENERAL STATUTES OF NORTH CAROLINA.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  The Session Laws of 1947, Chapter 166, Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13 and 14 are and the same are hereby repealed.

Sec. 2.  The Session Laws of 1947, Chapter 166, Section 11 is hereby amended to substitute the words "The City of Monroe" for the words "Said Commission" or "The Monroe Parks and Recreation Commission" at any place where those words appear in said section.

Sec. 3.  This act shall become effective upon ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 16th day of June, 1971.
