AN ACT TO PROTECT WILD OR FERAL HOGS IN JACKSON AND TRANSYLVANIA COUNTIES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Wild or feral hogs are hereby declared to be game animals.  It shall be unlawful to take any wild or feral hog between October 15, 1971 and October 15, 1973.

Beginning in 1973, the open season for taking wild or feral hogs shall be as follows: October 15 to January 1. The bag limit on wild or feral hogs shall be as follows: per day, one; per season; two; possession, two.

Sec. 2.  A violation of this act shall be a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not in excess of five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment, or by both fine and imprisonment.

Sec. 3.  This act shall apply only to Jackson and Transylvania Counties.

Sec. 4.  This act shall become effective upon ratification.
