AN ACT RELATING TO COVERAGE OF RADIATION WORKERS BY THE WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION ACT.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 97-2(1) is hereby amended by inserting following the word "establishment" and before the first comma in line 5 of such subsection the following: "or in which one or more employees are employed in activities which involve the use or presence of ionizing radiation".

Sec 2.  G.S. 97-13(b) is hereby amended by striking out the period at the end of such subsection and by substituting in lieu thereof the following: "; provided however, that this article shall apply to all employers of one or more employees who are employed in activities which involve the use or presence of ionizing radiation."

Sec. 3.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4.  This act shall be in full force and effect from and after July 1, 1971, and shall apply only to cases originating on and after July 1,1971.
