AN ACT TO EXEMPT MUNICIPALITIES FROM THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER 147 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Article 2 of Chapter 147 of the General Statutes is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof a new Section to be designated as G.S. 147-9.1, and to read as follows:

"G.S. 147-9.1.  Municipalities Exempt. Nothing in this Article shall be deemed to be applicable to municipalities nor to limit or restrict the amount of any automobile mileage allowance, or automobile expense allowance, or any other travel expense allowance or payment which may be paid by a municipality or by any board, commission, or other agency of any municipality."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be effective upon its ratification.
