HOUSE BILL 130

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CARTERET COUNTY TO PROHIBIT AND REGULATE SURFING ON THE WATERS OF THE ATLANTIC OCEAN ADJOINING SAID COUNTY.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Carteret County are hereby authorized to adopt a comprehensive zoning ordinance regulating and prohibiting surfing on the waters of the Atlantic Ocean adjoining or bounding Carteret County: Provided, that the ordinance shall not apply to any waters of the Atlantic Ocean lying within the corporate limits of any municipality in Carteret County.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
