AN ACT AMENDING G. S. 67-31(1) RELATING TO THE POWERS OF A DOG WARDEN SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY THE SHERIFF AND HIS DEPUTIES SHALL SHARE THE DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITY OF ENFORCING LAWS RELATING TO DOGS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. G. S. 67-31 (1) is amended by adding at the end thereof the following:

"In Cumberland County the sheriff and his deputies shall have the power of arrest and, with the dog warden, be responsible for the enforcement within the county of all laws pertaining to the ownership and control of dogs."

Sec. 2. This Act shall apply only to Cumberland County.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
