SENATE BILL 17

 

 

AN ACT TO REVISE THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF CONOVER IN CATAWBA COUNTY.

 

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The corporate area of the Town of Conover in Catawba County is hereby changed by excluding from the area in the corporate limits the following described area:

"BEGINNING at an iron pin corner of the corporate limits of the Town of Conover, the same being in the center line of the main line of the Southern Railroad as it runs South from the Town of Conover to the City of Newton, and said Beginning point also being located as follows:

North 6 degrees 25 minutes East 347.87 feet from an iron pin corner in the center line of the main line of the Southern Railroad where it intersects with the southern most corner of the corporate limits of the Town of Conover; and running thence from said Beginning point South 86 degrees 28 minutes West 221.75 feet to an iron pin, an old southwest corner of Pittman and now a southwest corner of the J. Kenneth Hedrick and wife, Doris C. Hedrick property, and also now a corner of the corporate limits of the Town of Conover; thence North 2 degrees 31 minutes West 100 feet to an iron pin, old northwest corner of Pittman and now northwest corner of Hedrick and wife, and a corner of the corporate limits of the Town of Conover; thence North 86 degrees 26 minutes East 214.94 feet to an iron pin in the center line of the main line of the Southern Railroad, a corner of the corporate limits of the Town of Conover; thence with the center line of the main line of the Southern Railroad, South 6 degrees 25 minutes West 100 feet to the point of Beginning."

The above calls are in accordance with a plat entitled "Town of Conover, Annexation by Petitions Boundary Map" by P. L. Abernethy, Registered Engineer, dated July 1965, to which plat reference is made for additional description. For partial chain of title see Book 620 at Page 318 and Book 490 at Page 199 of the Catawba County Registry.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 28th day of February, 1967.
