SENATE BILL 26

 

 

AN ACT TO ADD $1.00 TO THE COSTS OF COURT IN THE JACKSONVILLE MUNICIPAL COURT, TO BE USED FOR THE ONSLOW COUNTY LAW LIBRARY.

 

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Chapter 795 of the Session Laws of 1957 is hereby amended by adding thereto the following Section, immediately following Section 5:

"Sec. 5A. It shall also be the duty of the Clerk of the Jacksonville Municipal Court, after the effective date of this amendment, to collect from the defendant in each and every case finally disposed in his court, except in cases in which the City of Jacksonville is adjudged to pay all costs, the sum of one dollar ($1.00) which amount shall be immediately paid over to the Clerk of the Superior Court of Onslow County to supplement the aforesaid library fund, and which shall be expended in the way and manner provided in this Act,"

Sec. 2. Chapter 795 of the Session Laws of 1957 is hereby amended by deleting from the second line of Section 6 thereof the words "Sections 4 and 6 of this Act", and inserting in lieu thereof the words, "Sections 4, 5, and 5A of this Act".

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed,

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
