HOUSE BILL 425

AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF PEMBROKE, IN ROBESON COUNTY, CHAPTER 410, SESSION LAWS OF 1945, SO AS TO AUTHORIZE THE TOWN COMMISSIONERS TO FIX THE SALARY OF THE MAYOR.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. Section 6 of Chapter 410, Session Laws of 1945, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof a new paragraph to read as follows:

"The Board of Town Commissioners is hereby authorized, in its discretion, to establish and increase the annual salary of the Mayor by ordinance, provided, that such salary shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00) per month."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
