HOUSE BILL 82

 

 

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF JACKSON COUNTY TO APPOINT A SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS FOR SAID COUNTY FOR A TERM OF FOUR YEARS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. At a meeting to be held on the first Monday in April, 1965, or as soon thereafter as practicable, and quadrennially thereafter during the month of April, the Board of Education of Jackson County shall meet and elect a County Superintendent of Schools for Jackson County, subject to the approval of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education, who shall take office July 1st, and shall serve for a period of four years, or until his successor is elected and qualified. Except for the four-year term of office herein fixed by this Act, the procedure required by Chapter 115 of the General Statutes shall be observed in naming and appointing said County Superintendent of Schools for Jackson County.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
