AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 138-5 SO AS TO INCREASE PER DIEM AND ALLOWANCES OF STATE BOARDS, ETC.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 138-5 (b) (3) is hereby amended by rewriting the Section to read as follows:

"G.S. 138-5 (b) (3)  For subsistence, the actual amount expended for room, meals, and reasonable gratuities, not to exceed a total of twenty dollars ($20.00) per day when traveling in or out of the State: Provided, that subject to the approval of the Director of the Budget, members who attend meetings of boards, commissions and committees held in their home communities shall be allowed subsistence reimbursement for meals on the days they attend such meetings;".

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be in full force and effect upon its ratification and shall be effective retroactively to February 1, 1965.
