AN ACT TO ESTABLISH MILEAGE ALLOWANCE FOR JURORS IN WATAUGA COUNTY AND TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO FIX THE COSTS OF COURT TO PERMIT PAYMENT THEREOF.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. In Watauga County, all jurors in the Superior Court, including grand jurors and petit jurors, shall receive a travel allowance in an amount to be fixed by the County Commissioners; such travel allowance to be paid for mileage coming to the County seat and returning home, and for each day the juror actually attends the Superior Court of Watauga County under summons or order of the Court requiring such attendance.

Sec. 2. The Board of County Commissioners of Watauga County is authorized and empowered to establish the juror tax fees in criminal actions in Superior Court at not less than four dollars ($4.00), nor more than eight dollars ($8.00); and in civil actions in Superior Court at not more than five dollars ($5.00), nor more than eight dollars ($8.00).

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
