HOUSE BILL 193

AN ACT RELATING TO THE DISCOUNT FOR THE PREPAYMENT OF TAXES IN THE CITY OF HICKORY IN CATAWBA COUNTY.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. The last sentence of subsection (b) of Section 4.52 of Article 2 of subchapter C of the Charter of the City of Hickory, as the same appears in Chapter 323 of the Session laws of 1961, is rewritten to read as follows:

"In the discretion of the city council a discount of two per cent (2%), and no other, may be allowed for prepayment of taxes at any time within fifteen (15) days from the date at which the first tax notice slips shall be mailed."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
