AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 2-13 SO AS TO PRESCRIBE CERTAIN POWERS OF DEPUTY CLERKS OF THE SUPERIOR COURT.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  G.S. 2-13 is hereby amended by rewriting said Section to read as follows:

"§ 2-13.  Appointment and Powers of Deputies. Clerks of the Superior Court may appoint deputies, who shall take and subscribe the oaths prescribed for clerks, and who shall be as fully authorized and empowered as the clerk to certify the existence and correctness of any records in such clerks' offices and to do and perform any other ministerial acts which the clerks may be authorized and empowered to do, in their own names and without reciting the names of their principals. The powers herein specified shall be in addition to such powers and authorities as are now or hereafter may be given deputy clerks by law."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
