AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF UNION COUNTY TO FIX THE COMPENSATION OF SUPERIOR COURT JURORS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Union County is hereby authorized and empowered to determine the compensation of Superior Court jurors in said county; provided:

(1)       That fees paid to grand jurors and to regular jurors and to tales jurors serving in the Superior Court shall be fixed by the board of county commissioners at a sum not less than five dollars ($5.00) per diem and not more than ten dollars ($10.00) per diem for each day's service.

(2)       That the fees paid to jurors selected as provided under Article 2, Chapter 35 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, shall be fixed by the Board of County Commissioners of Union County at a sum not less than two dollars ($2.00) and not more than five dollars ($5.00) each as compensation for their services.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective July 1, 1961.
