HOUSE BILL 285

AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF SELMA, NORTH CAROLINA, RELATING TO THE SALARIES OF THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. Section 4 of Chapter 1261 of the 1953 Session Laws of North Carolina, as amended by Chapter 112 of the Session Laws of 1959, is hereby amended by adding the following at the end thereof:

"From and after May 5, 1961, each member of the Board of Commissioners shall receive a salary in the amount of four hundred eighty dollars ($480.00) per year, and the Mayor shall receive a salary in the amount of nine hundred dollars ($900.00) per year, payable in equal monthly installments."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
